Our commitment to inclusivity is reflected in our goal to provide high-quality, challenging learning experiences tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. With a shared commitment to rights and responsibilities, our entire school community collaborates to fulfill the Dreamers Academy Mission, Learning Principles, and Character Standards.
Our Student Support program is designed for students who can thrive within our inclusive school environment, meeting curriculum goals that may be modified and personalized to accommodate individual abilities. Support services may include in-class assistance, individualized or small-group instruction, and teacher support for diverse instructional strategies. We emphasize a whole-school approach where educators apply personalized teaching methods to ensure all students achieve success. The type and extent of differentiated instruction vary based on each student’s age, diagnosis, language background, and abilities. Tuition at Dreamers Academy does not include costs for additional services like extended diagnostic assessments, speech, language, or occupational therapy, which may be recommended or required by the school.
Learning Support
Our Learning Support educators work collaboratively with classroom teachers to provide targeted assistance. The Learning Support program aids students with mild-to-moderate learning challenges, attention difficulties, behavioral issues, or short-term learning needs. Support is offered in various settings and group formats, guiding students toward goals set in their Individual Education Plan or based on temporary learning requirements.
English as an Additional Language (EAL)
The EAL program at Dreamers Academy provides academic and social support for students who are non-native English speakers. The program’s primary aim is to develop English proficiency and ensure academic success, while fostering bilingualism and cultural diversity. We encourage parents to support their children in maintaining and enhancing their native languages, as research highlights the cognitive and developmental benefits of multilingualism. The linguistic and cultural diversity that non-native English speakers bring enriches the school experience for all students.
Intensive Learning Provision
Our Intensive Learning Provision serves students with intensive needs, such as diagnosed cognitive or developmental disabilities and medical conditions requiring tailored curricular expectations. These students often have mild to moderate learning disabilities that necessitate specialized instruction in functional academics, life skills, adaptive behavior, social skills, and emotional support. With a higher staff-to-student ratio, they receive instruction in co-taught classes, small groups, or one-on-one sessions, following a modified curriculum that aims for maximum inclusion in mainstream classes.
Behavior, Social, and Emotional Support
Dreamers Academy’s Student Support system includes a robust framework to assist students with behavioral, social, or emotional needs. This support is overseen by the headmistress in coordination with the head teacher and Student Support staff, ensuring that students receive comprehensive care tailored to their individual challenges.
